Our Second Katrina Rescue!

We have rescued six cats and three puppies from Animal Rescue New Orleans! They arrived in Wisconsin on the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, August 25th.

The situation in New Orleans is still desperate, even two years after Katrina made landfall. Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO), like all the shelters in the hurricane-affected areas of the south, is still struggling to find adoptive homes for their homeless pets because so many people moved away or can no longer afford pets after the hurricane devastation two years ago, and there are still thousands of homeless pets roaming their streets. Saving Paws Animal Rescue offered to help ARNO by taking in these Katrina-affected pets and caring for them until new adoptive homes can be found.
