Saving Paws Saves Katrina-Affected Pets! - 8/28/07
We have rescued six cats and three puppies from Animal Rescue New Orleans. They arrived in Wisconsin on the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, August 25th.
All rescued Katrina pets are in good health, are up-to-date on shots and are spayed or neutered. One puppy only has three legs because he was hit by a car on the streets of New Orleans, and two of the cats have special needs (FIV positive).
>>View photos and biographies of all available Katrina-affected pets by clicking here.
Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO), like all the shelters in the hurricane-affected areas of the south, is still struggling to find adoptive homes for their homeless pets because so many people moved away or can no longer afford pets after the hurricane devastation two years ago, and there are still thousands of homeless pets roaming their streets. Saving Paws Animal Rescue offered to help ARNO by taking in these Katrina-affected pets and caring for them until new adoptive homes can be found.
