Human Race 2008
Help us raise our goal of $7000 by joining Team Saving Paws for the Human Race on Saturday, May 3rd. By reaching this goal, Saving Paws will be able to care for the medical needs of our furry friends!
The Human Race is a community fund-raiser. It provides an opportunity for all non-profit organizations, schools and church groups to raise money for their programs. This walk / run will be held on the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans grounds in Appleton and is an easy, fantastic way for us to raise money, raise awareness of Saving Paws, and just plain have fun! This is our first year participating in the race so we'd love to have a large team representing Saving Paws. And, since this fundraiser is open to walkers of all ages, it’s a perfect family event!
Want to join our team? Here are 3 easy ways to get involved!
- Download & print both the instruction sheet and the pledge form, or
- Pick up a copy of the instruction sheet & pledge form at Saving Paws, or
- Contact Diane Chicos at dchicos@new.rr.com or Nicole Boesken at savingpawssupport@gmail.com with your name, address, and desired number of forms. We’ll then mail the information to you.

Benefits to you:
1. Breakfast AND lunch the day of the event! The Volunteer Center puts on the event and they do a fabulous job of making it fun!
2. Free t-shirt if you bring in $25 or more in pledge money
3. Being part of the Saving Paws team (We are hoping for 100 Walkers!)
4. You can walk or run the 5K track (or there is a shorter one mile track available OR you can simply just join us and not walk). Individuals, teams, dogs, strollers & families are all welcome!
4. You could win fabulous prizes!!
A FEW BRILLIANT IDEAS:
* One of our volunteers has their kids go door to door in the neighborhood - supervised of course - with their rescue dog asking for pledges.
* Send a letter to family & friends (basically your Christmas card list) telling them what Saving Paws has planned during that year and asking them to contribute. Include a self-addressed stamped envelope to make it easier too.
* If you have other great ideas, share them with us! You can pick one of the Saving Paws causes as a reason for support (spay/neuter, veterinary care etc).
* Ask your network to help change the world -- with their change! Just have them empty their change jars in support of your walking for Saving Paws.
