Chocolat
Hi to our friends at Saving Paws,
We just wanted to give you an update about how Chocolat is doing. We got to bring him home May 4th, and he's been doing great! He's getting more and more comfortable in his new home every day. His 2 brothers (our 2 other cats) are doing pretty well accepting him. They're not playing together too much just yet, but I know it won't be long. He likes lounging on our bed just like the other two - they think our bed is just one giant cat bed that they just happen to let us sleep in at night! We've found that he's super talkative and just loves to be brushed and pet. We couldn't have asked for a nicer cat. He has so much love to give. Thanks to everyone there, especially Jan, for taking such good care of him during his stay with you!
Take Care,
DeAnna Shepard-Affeldt and Russ Afffeldt

Baxter (AKA Boots)
I wanted to give you guys an update on Boots. Sorry it has taken me a few months to do so, but we are finally moved in and settled into our new home. Boots has been renamed to Baxter, I figured I'd give him a new name with a new start. He has adapted great! Him and Oliver, my existing cat couldn't get along any better! I had adopted Baxter because I had to put my childhood cat down that I had for 20 years and he has made loosing her so much easier. He enjoys sitting the the windows and watching the birds in the bird feeder I have for them. He is always happy and loves to sit on your lap the second you sit down. He loves all of his toys, he is always dragging them around the house or taking them all out of his toy basket! I would like to thank you for everything that you have done for him before I adopted him and for all of the other animals out there. I have recommended you to several other people! I will keep you updated on Baxter as time goes on also. Thanks again for the gift of such a great cat!
Ashley

Everything went better than I could have hoped! Pauli has no fears or issues with the dogs, and him and Ciram (the other kitty) get along great! He loves to sleep on the bed and watch out the windows.

Jacob and Zoey
Jacob and Zoey came to live with us on January 16, 2010 after the passing of our beloved Hercules and his sister Zima within a couple months of each other. We specifically chose Zoey (black/white) because she is older and had been living at Saving Paws for a while and we wanted her to have a furrever home. As soon as we saw her I knew she was meant to come home with us. Zoey absolutely loves to sleep in the sun on our bed and occasionally will nap on our laps. She is just wonderful and the longer she lives with us the more we see her awesome personality coming out. She is the sweetest softest kitty! The staff at Saving Paws picked out Jacob (black) for us and we are glad they did. Jacob has so much energy and is quite sassy and LOVES to play. He loves to cuddle when his energy is low (which is very seldom) and he purrs very loud. He makes wonderful noises and we are so happy he is here. Jacob and Zoey get along great and I know they love their furrever home.
Thank you Saving Paws for taking care of our kitties before we adopted them!!
…Tim and Sheri

Buddy
My family adopted Buddy in the middle of January. At first, we were a little shy around Buddy and he was shy around us. But after a week, Buddy’s personality (you can tell when he is smiling) started to shine through. We have been working very hard for Buddy to overcome his shyness around people and he’s doing great.
Soon Buddy will be graduating from obedience class, he’s the smartest one in the class and he enjoys all the treats for doing such a great job. When he comes home after class though, his brain hurts so he lies down for the night. Speaking of lying down, every night Buddy has to find someone’s legs to sleep next to. He feels most comfortable when he is able to have human contact. And he’s pretty tricky about it, if you move your legs; Buddy instantly stands up and gets closer to you.
Buddy is no longer the shy dog when we first got him. He loves being around us all the time and following us like a shadow. Sometimes he trips us up but we still love him. He’s wagging his tail a lot more these days and he’s overjoyed when we come home.
Buddy is starting to get the concept of playing with toys. Since he came from a house with many other dogs, we’re not quite sure if he had his own toys. Buddy loves his tennis balls and plays with them all the time, flipping them into the air and then pouncing on them. He provides a lot of laughs for our family.
Buddy is one sweet dog that reassures us every day that we made the right decision in adopting him. Thank you so much for saving Buddy from his large family and giving his a second chance. He really did find his furever home.
Jamie, Judy, and Jim

We are continually rewarded for adopting Sentinel. He is a tremendous individual. Sentinel is an “older” dog with established experience at loving.
His life is overfilled with joy and that joy splashes over into our lives every contact we have with him. I am fortunate because Sentinel goes to work with me daily.
Sentinel walks every morning and night and he has enjoyed success in his weight loss program which consists of a prescription diet and an exercise routine focused on fun.
Sentinel’s life is a gift to us and he will never again be in search of a home or a friend. This is a wonderful lifelong commitment.
Thanks, Dale

Gus and Oreo
I thought everyone would like to know an update on Gus and Oreo. They are both doing beautifully. Gus no longer has his eating problem. Oreo has loved having Gus around. He has really come into his own with Gus around. As you can see by the picture they are both very healthy and happy together. Thank you to everyone who helped us pick these wonderful cats, especially Jan and Michelle.
Thank you again.
Sincerely,

On Feb. 23rd we added Layla & Lucy (formerly Cinsea & Speedy) to our family. I was only looking for 1 cat but the former owner preferred to keep them together and my daughter talked me into getting the 2nd cat as a birthday gift for her. So here we are with 2 cats...They definitely keep us amused ... especially Lucy who is always getting into something. She always needs to know what everyone is up to and comes to greet us in the morning when we get up & at the door when we come home. Lucy likes to sleep on the bed between my husband and I, on her back with all 4 paws stretched out. She's not quite 2 years old yet and still has the energy of a kitten. She uses too much of that energy to chase and pick on Layla. Although they both came out of the same former home they really aren't buddies but do tolerate each other well. Sometimes they will both sleep on the same bed or couch but usually not very close to each other.
Layla is a gorgeous cat with dark green eyes (we think she's part maine coon). She's a sweetheart of a cat and always wants to be near us. She was a birthday present for my teenage daughter and the 2 of them have really bonded with Layla spending most nights on her bed. Layla is a very vocal cat and meows in a little kitten voice every time we talk to her.
We are enjoying our 2 new family members and they are adjusting well to being in our home (they even tolerate our 10 yr old golden retriever, Molly).

"Smoosh has her first vet appointment on Friday the 19th. She is doing
well so far. We've discovered she likes to hog the bed and at meal time
she waits for her share of people food."

Honeybee
We just wanted to let you know Honey Bee is doing great! She gets along with our other cats just fine. She adjusted almost right away. She is very playful and loves to play with the other cats. She did give us a scare last week, she had a bad seizure and I rushed her to the vet. They kept her overnight. They did bloodwork but have not been able to determine the reason for sure. They think it might be from her previous head trauma. She will be going back in a few weeks for more bloodwork. The vet also gave us eyedrops for her, she gets them everyday for the rest of her life. But they actually have helped her eyes, they are not as cloudy and he is hoping the drops will prevent anymore loss of her sight. She is doing just fine now. She sleeps on the bed with us. We love her so much and we are so happy to have her in our home! I think everyone should adopt animals with special needs -- They are truly special!! Thanks for everything!

| Raven I adopted Raven from Saving Paws just a little over a week ago and it is like she has been with me forever. She is doing great and Manfred (my almost 9 year old cat who is also all black) are already best buddies. He is so happy to have a little sister to play with! Thanks to Saving Paws for doing what they do because if they didn't I wouldn't have my newest little baby! Thanks again!

Daisy & Dynamo (formerly Farah Fawcett and Chuck Norris) We adopted Daisy & Dynamo on September 25th (formerly Farrah Fawcett & Chuck Norris). These sibling kitties have settled into their new home very comfortably. In fact, as I’m typing this, Dynamo is jumping on my laptop and demanding my attention. The cats love to play with the kids and hang out with the family. It’s been fun watching the cats interact with each other and getting to know their personalities. We really adore the two little fuzz balls. Thanks to Saving Paws for giving us the opportunity to adopt 2 kitties in need of a home. We promise to love them & take great care of them. | Bella aka Wubsy | |
| Hi there. I just wanted to update you on Bella. [aka Wubsy]. I adopted her at the end of July and I couldn't be more pleased to have added her to our family. We welcomed her with open arms... and my dog and cat adore her. I don't see who wouldn't. She's always purring and flaunting her pretty orange stripes off! At times she can be very energetic, and then the next minute she's fast asleep. It's so funny how she sleeps. Always laying in the oddest positions. I don't see how half of them are comfortable, but she likes it that way. I'm so glad Bella is on our family now. And I'm very glad my older cat, Cleo, has adjusted to her. Cleo acts like her mother... always cleaning her and playing with her; teaching her the ropes of growing up. I set some photos along so you can see how she's doing as well. Enjoy, and thank you again for such a wonderful animal. :] ~Rebecca Marie~

Cinders (formerly Cinderella) I wanted to write to let you know that Cinders adapted very quickly to her new home and is she doing very well! She is the queen of the house and we couldn't be more happy with her. She sure does love to give hugs and loves to laze in front of the patio door protecting the yard from all of the birdies. We love her so much and are so happy that she has become a part of our family. We thank you for all of your help with the adoption process. Mary Kay and Becca Gerbers |

Meowzers and Daisy (formerly Doc and Hickory) Hello! We wanted to update you when we saw Dribble (Dickory) on the website. Meowzers and Daisy are the other two sisters (aka Doc and Hickory) and are doing great! Their personalities are so different and unique. Daisy, the black and white, is lean and wiry and FAST. She lets her opinion be known but is still cuddly and sweet. Meowzers (the grey, who never meows!) is laid back and content, a sweet fluffy furball. She will play with her toys in the corner just to hide them from her sister who will steal anything. Both cats are very loving and tolerant with our children and instantly became cherished members of our family. Thanks, Saving Paws! -- Amy & Kristofer Bjorklund

![]() | Miley I adopted Miley almost 3 mos ago, and she was a very frightened little kitty! She would run away if you looked at her! Now she is just a totally different cat! She loves to cuddle and play now. I got another cat shortly after, so miley had a friend and now they are inseparable!!! I am very happy I found her and she was able to come home with me. :] --Lindsi Miller |

Dribble (formerly Dickory) My boyfriend and I adopted a kitten from you approximately 4-5 months ago. I wanted to take a couple of minutes to send you some pictures and let you know how she is doing. We renamed her Dribble. You would think it's because of the color of her face, but it actually came from my boyfriends love of basketball. She is awesome!! She's getting bigger now and really coming into her own. She's an inside cat, but loves to sit in the windows and at the patio door so that she can meow at the birds. She loves to climb, and finds a new place to get into or on top of every day!! She is a total sweetheart. She loves to have her belly, neck, and head rubbed, and she's a purring machine. She sleeps in between us almost every night. Sometimes she tries to cuddle with my dog (he's a pug), but he usually just walks away from her. They play together a lot. The take turns chasing each other around our apartment. I've included some pictures with the email. Thank you for allowing us to adopt her!! Nicole Bowers |

![]() | Sofie (formerly Lili) Just letting you know that Sofie(formally Lily) is doing great and has made friends with everyone, even Dodger, our antisocial 11 year old cat. Thanks so much for her. Our daughters just love her. Derrick and Beth Meisel |

Walter (aka River) Wow it's been a week already and it seems as if Walter had doubled in size. He's growing into one big baby, he has lot's of love to give and has no problem spreading it around. He has been trying to play with our cat Barbara, she's not ready yet but it doesn't stop him from trying. We started puppy class on Sunday, he seems eager to learn not to mention play with the two other puppy's there. This morning he was standing by the dishwasher and noticed his reflection. Talk about hilarious, not to mention he finally let us hear what his bark sounds like. All-in-all he is settling in quite well, he truly is a wonderful addition to our family.

Mila Nevidomy (formerly Mina) Just a short note to let you know that "Mina" the little tortie with the eye problems is doing *GREAT*! She just finished a long course of antibiotics and eye ointments (which she hated), and as you can see from the pics, she's doing much better. I'm going to try one more round with a different antibiotic to see if we can get this all cleared up once and for all. She is still a little squinty, but her eyes aren't inflamed and they don't drain nearly as much as they used to. Even if this second antibiotic does nothing, she seems much more comfortable, and I can actually see what color her eyes are, so we're both happy. ;) |

![]() | Gilmore Just thought I'd send a few pics of Gilmore your way to say thanks again and let you know we have fallen head over heels for this little guy. He seems to be very content with us and has settled in easily. He is getting Spayed today(poor guy) so of course he will be spoiled till he recovers. Thanks again we know we would not have him if it weren't for you and your rescuers. Thank-you,Thank-you Thank-you Sue |

Princess Purr Paws (formerly Tootsie) Princess is doing very well. We love her to pieces. We got her when she was about 5 months old and had just been spayed. The hair on her tummy is pretty much grown back in. She is very healthy and has a beautiful shine to her coat. She is a talker...meets us at the door every day after work and tells us about her day. The warmer weather is peeking her curiosity about the outdoors but we are just not sure if that is an avenue we want her to explore yet. She is a very good girl. A very social kitty. She adores company, even the neighbors dogs. The name Princess fits her quite well as she demands attention and makes all the rules at our house...she loves to play and will drag her toys into our bed each morning and meow until we get up and play with her... Thank you for taking such good care of her until we found/adopted her...she was trained very well and it was obvious she was taken good care of. Sherry and Jamie W - Appleton

![]() | Sattin and Tuscan Just giving you a little update. The boys are doing great. They needed a little extra medicine from the doctor to get over the colds they had. The family voted new names for them, I hope you understand. Tuscan is now Blake, and Sattin is now Beau and his tooth did eventually come out and both are doing awesome. They get along great with the older cats, which is a great relief. They go back to the Vet soon to be neutered, he wanted them to be completely over there colds first. Here are a couple pics for you. Talk to you soon. James, Lynn and Family |

Stubby and PJ It's Jody from Oregon. I finally am sending you some photos of Stubby and PJ whom I adopted in 07. There's one of PJ helping me type (he likes to lie on the keyboard), there's a tisket a tasket a Stubby in a basket, Stubby and Chase (a kitty I adopted here in Oregon) trying to share the cat hammock, all four of my boys lounging on the cat tree, one of Stubby and PJ cuddlin' on the couch, and another that I already forgot what it was. haha. Anywho, thought maybe you could add this to your "happytails" type stories if you do those. Thanks again Jody, Stubby, PJ, Chase and Bandit. | ![]() |

Rascal and Felix This is from Pat and Debbie O’Connor, we picked up Rascal and Felix about a week before Thanksgiving. Thought I’d write to tell you that they are fine and have become good pals. They play lots together and snuggle too. Rascal is growing up quickly, but still can’t jump as high as Felix, when he does I think I’ll have to kitty proof some more-he’s quite curious! Thought I’d include some pictures-They love sitting by the heater by the kitchen sink, and one of Pat trying to work from home with two kitties that both want lap space, and relaxing on our couch-their favorite place. Thanks again for all your hard work with the paws you save, Debbie and Pat O’Connor |

Cosmo Well we wanted to send you an update on our girl. She has grown so much, and she is a very good dog. Cosmo just celebrated her first birthday in January and we are hoping she has stopped growing now. She has learned to swim in the lake and enjoys it very much. We bring her to Daycare three days a week just to tucker her out as she has enough energy to go for days. She has been a joy to all of us and is such a well behaved dog. We always gave the credit to Rob for picking her out, but I think this was the other way around, Cosmo chose us and we are extremely happy with those results. Terri Ann Verhagen |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lucy Lou Lucy had to take time to grow up and learn who was boss, not to mention that I will return everyday! We just started taking obedience classes at Poochies and Mutts here in GB and slowly but surely I think we'll get the hang of things. She wasn't totally out of line at the class, but really wanted to be with the other dogs, so I had to keep redirecting her back to me. A few weeks ago I also boarded her for the first time there. She did very well. So, I guess that's the story on our end. It's amazing how much progress has been made in a year--which is what it will be at the end of March! I know what you are thinking..."I told you so..."! But of course I am glad you did! Thanks again for the good advice this past summer--it made me realize it takes two to make this thing go! Here are some pictures of her from the last few months! ~H.M., Green Bay |

Jaxon (formerly Sebastian) We adopted Jaxon (formerly Sebastian) just before Thanksgiving last year. When we adopted him we knew he'd be a big boy and HE IS! He has grown to an 80 pound licker. He loves giving kisses...whether it's your hand your leg or just the blanket he's laying on. He definitely loves the take up all the room on the bed which we only let him lay on during the day. He doesn't fit too well with two adults in the bed when he takes up more room then Scott and I do. We had normal puppy "issues" at the beginning and have now learned you can not keep anything in his reach when he's home alone. He's very curious about EVERYTHING! He makes us laugh everyday especially when he's introduces to new things. We showed him a balloon today and he would kick it to make it go in the air. When we throw a toy football at him he jumps up and tries to catch it with his front paws. It's so cute. I attached a few pictures to the email so you can see how big he has gotten. He still thinks he's a lap dog though. Thank you so much for letting us adopt Jaxon. We are looking forward to bringing him to the dog park this spring. He's a joy to have around. As you can see in one of the picture he tries to sit in one of our chairs. He even tries to lay down... Scott Zuehlke and Sarah Kempen |

| Newman and Archie Newman and Archie here! We used to be Jerry and Spike, but Momma changed our names. Boy, did we hit the jackpot! We have a great new home with 2 kitty sisters (they don't entirely think we're wonderful yet, but they'll figure it out) and 2 doggie sisters (they love us!) We have tons of toys, and get lots of cuddles and hugs all the time. Daddy says he thinks we're the best and Momma tells us how much she loves us all the time. And we show them how much we love them with kisses. We are so happy to have such a great forever home! We can't thank Lynn and Saving Paws enough for taking such good care of us and socializing us so well. Merri Donald |

Theodore and Jordan Thanks so much to Saving Paws for these two babies. Jordan was a princess when we picked her out and I think she is now a full fledged queen! Theodore was my baby when we picked him out.... I love big orange kitties and he is a big hunk of love. He loves to be played with and he hums at us constantly. We were beginning to wonder if Theo was ever going to quit growing... thinking we adopted a small cougar or something... but he has seemed to level out, at least a little bit... he is definately a two arm kitty, with a tail like a raccoon... just the way we like em!! They are definately the center of our house... and if we dare forget that for a moment... they are not shy to remind us immediately of their importance. When we had to put our big fat cat to sleep, we never thought we'd find a kitty to take her place... and although we still miss her... these two have definately taken the sting away and filled our hearts with lots of love. We love them dearly and are so happy that we were able to adopt them from a rescue... They are now totally pampered, spoiled and loved. Thanks so much for all the work you all do.... know it is appreciated! Sarah, Ally, Amanda (and even) Randy VanCamp |

Carter (formerly Julius) Julius is very comfortable in his new home. He fit right in right away and was never afraid of the other cats or a new environment. He is so cool!! He loves to play with his toys relax on the cat tower and catch Tj , another kitty that looks very simular to him. I love that Julius sleeps in a little ball right next to me. I did rename him to "Carter" When I heard that name I really liked it and it "fits" Thanks for letting me adopt him ... he is great!! -- Kim Erdahl |

Shiloh I wanted to give you an update on Shiloh. What a ham he is! And he gets along with all the other cats - even though they don't get along with each other. He's a curious clod, but so cute that you can't stay mad. :) I hope his mom and brother have found good homes. Shi seems very happy here. He's not really a snuggler, but he likes a good massage! And he likes to sleep with stuff, this is one of his teddy bears :) -- Gina |

![]() | Kramer Thank you Saving Paws! Kramer is officially living the good life. He didn't take long to warm up to Fluffy and I, and he continues to maintain a healthy appetite. In fact, he's just starting to understand the concept of an endless food dish. Kramer's first official Thanksgiving was a special treat. He was very excited about the yummy turkey dinner, and is living up to his reputation as a big fat lover boy. Any excess weight can be blamed on the holidays. I'm sure if Kramer knew about the ham and chicken at Christmas, he would be looking forward to it! I'd like to send a special thank you to all of the incredible staff and volunteers that made his rescue possible. I feel truly blessed to have Kramer, and all of his remaining lives.
