Max
Max joined the Saving Paws gang because he was sad that one of his previous owners did not treat him very nicely. He also expressed his unhappiness by peeing outside his litterbox. So Max came to Saving Paws. We consider Max our mascot, as he is absolutely one-of-a-kind beautiful and doesn’t mind posing for pictures. He also has a loving gaze and will stare into your eyes, pleading to be petted. Max is our resident house mama, as he welcomes the new kittens by snuggling up to them and grooming them. He also has not peed outside his litterbox once since he has been at Saving Paws. Update: Max has been adopted by one of our veterinary
partners, the Fox Valley Cat Clinic! Read all about it on Max's Web Page

Opie
Opie came to us because his previous owners brought a new puppy into the house, which did not please Opie, who was used to being the center of attention. He decided to express his disdain for the new pup by peeing on the carpet. His owners tried everything to get Opie to stop, but to no avail. So they brought him to Saving Paws. Opie is a favorite of all our volunteers, because he runs up to greet you with a head butt, and he will gaze right into your eyes, pleading for you to pet him. He is a big fan of snuggling up on your lap and stretching his arms up around your neck in an affectionate hug. Opie has not peed outside the litterbox once since he arrived at Saving Paws. Come out and visit the shelter to get your own dose of "Opie Lovin'!" See more pictures of Opie on our Volunteer Photo Gallery page

Tippy
Tippy has lived at Saving Paws since he was a baby kitten. He was born with a neurological disorder that affects his balance, so when he walks, he “tips” back and forth, and sometimes falls over. He gets around just fine though, and loves attention and being petted and laying in your lap. Tippy could be adopted, but we would need to find a very special home that would provide baby gates by all stairs, and Tippy could also require additional veterinary care in the future, as he may be more prone to develop arthritis.

Ricky
Ricky is a big sweet loverboy who joined the
Saving Paws family in August 2006. He was also a fan of peeing outside his litterbox, and his previous owners did every test and tried
everything to try and get him to stop, but they couldn’t break him of the habit. So Ricky came to Saving Paws. He was very shy when he first arrived but has really come out of his shell since he’s been here. He now enjoys curling up in your lap and being petted while he purrs. He is one of our volunteers' favorite kitties to come out and visit. Read the note from Ricky's former owners.

Koby
Koby joined us in October 2006. She has adjusted very well to the shelter environment and is a happy kitty. She adores being gently petted. We did adopt Koby out once but it did not work out and she came back to us. Because of this and the traumatic experiences Koby has had in her life, we are caring for her as a permanent resident.
Note from the webmaster: Koby is very special to me. Each visit out there, I make time to spend with just her, petting and brushing her for a while. She enjoys it, but lets me know when she's done. She has come a long way since being at Saving Paws. What a beautiful girl! - Julie
